Exploring Creation Retreat (September 9–12, 2026)
Exploring Creation Retreat on September 9–12, 2026
God’s first Bible was creation. Long before humans began drafting and editing the written library of works that we call the Holy Bible, God was already speaking to us, communicating God's grace and glory through the natural world and through the Holy Spirit. Our ancestors were connected to God in a way that many of us have lost. Yet God can still be found in creation, and Pennsylvania offers countless opportunities to reconnect with God, with ourselves, and with one another through immersion in the natural world.
The Brookland Retreat Center is offering the Exploring Creation Retreat on September 9–12, 2026, providing an opportunity to reconnect in these meaningful ways.
Activities are still being finalized, but are likely to include:
•
Praying the Daily Office together
• Scripture reflections and discussions focused on creation and spirituality
• Quiet time for wandering the Brookland campus and personal reflection
• A day trip bicycle ride on the Upper Pine Creek Rail Trail, utilizing the services of Pine Creek Outfitters for bike rentals and shuttle service, if needed
• Campfires and stargazing under some of Pennsylvania’s darkest skies (the retreat coincides with a new moon, making it an ideal time for viewing the night sky)
• Sharing meals, fellowship, and conversation while nourishing one another physically and spiritually
• A day-trip hiking adventure, possibly at the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon
Additional details, registration information, costs, and lodging options are currently being developed and will be released in July.
